Poltekpar Palembang ready to make Asian Games successful

Palembang, South Sumatra  (ANTARA News Sumsel) - Palembang State Tourism Polytechnic (Poltekpar Palembang) is ready to make the Asian Games in August 2018 successful by preparing its students to participate in the international sporting event.

Poltekpar Palembang Director Zulkifli Harahap remarked here on Monday that Poltekpar will prepare and empower its students to take part in the Asian Games.

He revealed that more than one thousand students enrolled in various courses at the tourism polytechnic in Palembang will participate to enliven the sporting event.

In addition, the Poltekpar will operate a food truck called mobile kitchen that was launched by South Sumatra Governor Alex Noerdin.

Indonesia will organize the 18th Asian Games in Jakarta and the South Sumatran Province`s capital city of Palembang in August.

In order to provide security to foreign guests, the Indonesia Asian Games 2018 Organizing Committee (INASGOC) will involve more than 30 thousand police personnel of four regional police divisions.

"The number of personnel to be deployed will be in accordance with the security needs, including security in the game fields and non-match arenas, such as the athletes` homesteads and hotels," Deputy IV of INASGOC Senior Commissioner Unggul Sedyantoro had stated in Jakarta last Tuesday.

The four regional police divisions to be involved in securing the implementation of the Asian Games in August are Polda Metro Jaya (Jakarta Regional Police), South Sumatra Regional Police, West Java Regional Police, and Banten Regional Police.

In addition to police personnel, INASGOC is working with the Indonesian Defense Forces` Headquarters related to the security of the Asian Games, especially the Army Women`s Corps, Women`s Corps of the Navy, and the Air Force Women`s Corps.
