Jakarta (ANTARA) - State-owned bank Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI) and the Ministry of Transportation has integrated the Sea Toll Information System (Sitolaut) with the BRISTORE and BRIVA Web Service application.
Vice Director of BRI Catur Budi Harto stated that the step was taken to revive and develop Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) through the Sea Toll Program.
"BRI will continue to support MSME entrepreneurs in Indonesia through efforts, including synergizing the Sea Toll service managed by the Ministry of Transportation," he remarked here on Saturday.
The Sea Toll Program is one of the strategic policies of President Joko Widodo based on the concept of gathering, loading, and delivering ocean logistics between islands.
The program aims to connect major harbors in Indonesia to reduce inter-regional and inter-island price disparity as well as to lower expensive logistical costs.
Harto pointed out that BRI's MSME customers constituted over 60 percent of its total customer base of some 90 million customers.
He remarked that these customers can expand the market segment and derive benefits from the subsidy given by the government through the Sea Toll Program.
This integration will also streamline payment transactions for entrepreneurs since the ship loading room's order price will be shown to the ship operator online in real time.
"It means that it can be done anywhere and anytime," Harto elaborated.
The BRIVA payment can be made at all BRI work units and e-channel network across Indonesia as well as through the BRImo application service.
The vice director also echoed BRI's sustained commitment to supporting the government's program by utilizing the support of the network of work units spread across the nation.
He is optimistic that BRI will continue to open greater access for MSME enterprises with the Ministry's Sea Toll Program in order to streamline logistics distribution, especially to meet the basic needs of remote regions.
